Kylie is 'too sexy' for new Coldplay album

Two weeks before the release of Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, Coldplay have disclosed that they have another album planned, for as early as next year. And it'll feature Kylie Minogue.

"It will neatly wrap up things for the end of the decade," Chris Martin said of the album, which will likely be a bits'n'bobs collection. "Then, I don't know what we'll do."

Coldplay recorded a song with Kylie during the Viva La Vida sessions, Martin told Q Radio, but the track was "too sexy" to make the final cut. "At this point we cannot be that sexy," he said. "It's a song called Lunar and Kylie is particularly brilliant on it.

"It will be on a record we will put out in 2009, some time at the end of next year. It will be track nine, I imagine."

As the more perceptive of you will have gathered, this implies that there will be at least eight more tracks. The only other one to be described so far is a version of Viva La Vida's instrumental opening track, Life in Technicolour, with vocals. Tracks like Famous Old Painters and Glass of Water, mentioned by Coldplay last year but absent from Vida La Vida's final track list, may also be destined for the collection.
